Chapter 8

Charley surprises an old friend with his newfound love of golf… and gains a coach in the process.

He goes national when he gets invited to a big tournament.

He meets Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and others he will now for years..

His golf notoriety creates situations in which he bumps into old friends… some being able to provide him with more info on his war injuries and what happened in the “blank space” he can’t remember.

Charley wins his first tournament.

He breaks through the old pattern of “coming up short” on his dreams.

He moves into a new house with the family… he frustrates Kitty, and he shocks his neighbors.

He leaves the security of his job, starts a new business… and then later makes another career adjustment after receiving some advice.

The adjustment causes him to build a team, create some process that work, and continue growing forward.

He recognizes that life and golf both have ups and downs… and the best thing you can do is to keep playing forward from wherever you are.
