Commander can't locate his men
I was a commander in the Middle East. We were under heavy fire at one time and began to run low on ammo, so I sent three of my men back 20 clicks to get more.
That should have taken them about an hour— nothing more.

After they didn’t return…
… for two hours, I began to worry.
After three…
… I sent others to look for them.

No one could locate them.
They were gone.
But there were no bodies, no blown-up vehicles, no evidence anything had happened to them.
They just vanished.

Then I was ordered to change my location.
“I can’t. I have men who are missing, and this is the last known coordinates they have. This is where they will look for us. I’ve been unable to reach them…”
I was ordered— still— to move.

I worried and wondered…
It was DAYS later when I finally received word that my men were OK.
They had been ordered to move, as well— and no one told me OR them.
So, there they were— worried about leaving us with no ammo.
And here I was— worried about leaving them in the middle of an area where we had come under heavy assault.
