Coming Fall 2025!

The primary “physical product” of GY6 is a book, to be published in a Moleskin-type look, such that it appears to be a journal.

It can be given to veterans, military personnel, and first responders and no one will know what they are carrying— except them.

The name is intentionally vague for the same reason.

About the book

GY6 is a faith-driven, Scripturally-sound, and scientifically-accurate overview of PTSD and Moral Injury.

It is designed to help affected persons:

  • Affirm the presence of the soul and spirit hurts they already have, as well as
  • Access tangible ways to walk into healing and freedom.

An all-in-one resource

The 9-chapter book contains three parts—

  • Part 1 = Total wholeness (body, soul, and spirit)
  • Part 2 = PTSD (a soul hurt)
  • Part 3 = Moral Injury (a spiritual hurt)

Each part has three chapters each, all of them followed by two sections related to that chapter’s core content—

  • Application and next steps = how to apply the lessons of that chapter, along with questions to answer. Participants write directly into their books.
  • Stories = actual events, as told by “heroes” that show how they encountered the struggle (or solution) outlined in the chapter, enabling readers to “see themselves” in the content. The book currently contains 36 stories from actual “heroes.”

Other resources

Some might receive the book and not read it— because of the number of pages, because of their time commitments, or even because they primarily learn in other ways.

That’s OK—

  • The book is a tangible tool that chaplains, trainers, peers, and others can place directly in the hands of one of our heroes, giving them a “physical product” to take with them.
  • The book is a resource that contains QR codes and links to other content, including the enhanced audiobook, videos, stories from other heroes, places to find help, and more.

The enhanced audiobook (plus video course) can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the lead page of the book.

With numerous illustrations placed throughout the book, it is designed to be easy to read and accessible. However, the book is the entry point to more.

Distribution

The book will be “marketed” in three primary ways:

1. Shared through municipalities, ministries, partnering organizations, and those in strategic positions, including—
  • Military chaplains who regularly talk with impacted personnel but need good tools to share
  • Fire chiefs, police chiefs, and others who interact with first responders in / after moments of crisis (i.e., a fatality, a shooting)
  • Faith leaders involved in Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) who have close connection with those who have been impacted by PTSD and Moral Injury
  • Church, nonprofit, and business leaders who see the need and want to assist
  • Precincts and academies where first responders are trained
  • CEUs / Continuing Education Credits for professionals who “touch” this space

We will work through these "boots on the ground" to distribute resources directly to personnel in need.

2. Seminars and workshops
  • Hosted at churches, businesses, and other community touch-points, these events function as entry points into the relational side of the GY6 project
  • Each event has as invitation to go further after the workshop
3. Sold online

We will intentionally sell the book on a GY6 website, encouraging people to purchase it with the knowledge that proceeds will be reinvested into the effort.

We will also invite purchasers to become donors to the effort, as this project will run through a 501c3 (LifeLift).
