WHO THIS TRAINING IS FOR

For anyone who wants to be better prepared to help

You don’t have to be a professional to notice a change, start a caring conversation, or help someone connect with support.

Family and friends

You care about someone who seems distant, overwhelmed, or unlike themselves—and you want to know what to say and what to do next.

Veterans and first responders

You want to be better prepared to support someone you served with, work alongside, or recognize as carrying a weight they haven’t shared.

Chaplains, ministry leaders, and peer supporters

People bring you difficult concerns. You want practical ways to listen, ask directly, recognize your limits, and connect them with appropriate care.

And if you’re struggling yourself, you belong here too.

You don’t have to have all the words for what you’re carrying to begin reaching out.

MEET YOUR GUIDE

Meet Andy Jenkins

Andy Jenkins is the author of the GY6 Field Guide and your guide for this training.

Through GY6, he teaches a practical, faith-based approach to understanding trauma, PTSD, and moral injury—considering the whole person: body, soul, and spirit.

This training draws largely from lessons five and six of the Field Guide, exploring guilt, shame, acceptance, and the conversations that can help someone connect with care.

Andy’s goal is to help you become better prepared to listen, ask directly, and support the next safe step.
